Products

Our mission is to provide end-users with the most advanced tools for accurate and cost-effective diagnosis of osteoporosis and other musculoskeletal diseases, that will reduce overall healthcare cost, particularly associated with high cost of therapy. Currently we are developing and bringing those products to the market.

  • Multiple-Projection DXA Scanner

Unlike conventional Dual-energy X-ray Absorptometery (DXA) scanners, the QMM scanner is designed to image any body region in any projection with the patient either recumbent or erect, and has superior image quality and 3-D capabilities. A comprehensive software algorithm includes x-ray imaging that incorporates spectroscopic information, 2-D and 3-D acquisition methods, quantitative methods for tissue characterization and engineering analyses for evaluation of bone mechanical structure and strength.

              • U.S. Patent No. 7,203,274, “Light Weight, Compact, High Precision, Multiple Projection DEXA Scanner System”
              • U.S. Patent No. 6,816,564 and pending European Patent Application No. 01 989 985.5-2305, “Techniques for Deriving Tissue Structure from Multiple Projection, Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry”
              • U.S. Patent No. 7,186,022 and Australian Patent No. 2003214929, “Highly Efficient and Compact X-ray Source Employing a Thin Transmission Target with Spray Cooling Suitable for Use in Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA) and Other X-ray Systems”,
  • Quantitative Imaging Algorithm

The software provides engineering analysis of bone structure and strength to predict fracture risk of bone due to osteoporosis and other bone diseases.

    • U.S. Patent No. 6,816,564 and pending European Patent Application No. 01 989 985.5-2305, “Techniques for Deriving Tissue Structure from Multiple Projection, Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry”
    • JHU Trade Secret, “A Software Program For Measuring The Structural Properties Of Human Bones Using Data From Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry Scanners”
    • JHU Trade Secret, “A Multiple-Projection DXA Scanner For Improved Accuracy And Precision In The Measurement Of Bone Cross-Sectional Geometry And Body Composition”
    • Registered U.S. Trademark of JHU, “Hip Structure Analysis” (HSA™)

Click here for the HSA (Hip Structure Analysis) product.

  • Geometry Phantom

The purpose of the phantom is to provide an absolute reference standard for bone geometry that is can be used in both DXA and CT methods. This phantom is designed with six separate segments to provide a range of cross-sectional geometries spanning those seen in the adult human femur.

    • Penging Australian Patent
  • Anti-scatter Grid

This proprietary device helps a radiographic system to be scattering free and to have the highest imaging quality.

    • U.S. Patent No. 6,529,582, “Cross-hatched, focused, x-ray scatter reduction grid fabricated by lamination technique”
    • JHU/APL Trade Secret, “Three-Dimensional X-ray Antiscatter Grid Using Micromachined and Chemically Polished Lead Sheets”
